Just got back from the Miike Snow show at Urban Lounge. It was probably the most well produced show I’ve ever seen there. They played about half album versions and some live remixes of their songs. The wore Phantom of the Opera masks. They had a radical light show…felt as if I were at a rave.
The best part of the whole night was the revelation that guidos exist in Salt Lake City: gelled hair, fake tans, bedazzled clothing…they pulled out all of the stops. My favorite guido looked super greasy and wore a tennis headband over his gelled hair and a sporty windbreaker. Another gem would “freestyle rap” over any instrumental parts of songs. Sad thing is: he actually had a few groupies. There was also a lot of making out HARD. Like, making out-for-entire-songs hard. Unfortunately, it was happening right in from of me.
I’m beat. This weekend has been SO fun.
